Russia sends another 24 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Lebanon

MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - An Ilyushin Il-76 plane of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has delivered a further 24 tonnes of humanitarian supplies to Beirut, the ministry press service said in a statement on Thursday.

The humanitarian operation was carried out on orders from Russian President Vladimir Putin and instructions from Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov.

"A special flight by an Il-76 of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry delivered humanitarian cargo with a total weight of around 24 tonnes, including medications, food supplies, including baby food, and essentials," the statement said.

This is the third such special flight conducted by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry.
