Two Russians jailed for 3 years for trying to smuggle equipment which can be used for making weapons (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax) - A court in Moscow has found two men guilty of attempt to take out of the country equipment which can be used to create weapons.

"The court ruling for Dzhuan Fatkhi El-Khpdi and Alexander Valeryevich Nerush has imposed a penalty in the form of three years' imprisonment for each, to be served at a medium-security facility," Savelovsky district court said.

Both men are Russian citizens, it said.

They were found guilty of attempt to pass equipment, which can be used for making weapons and military hardware, to a representative of a foreign organization.

The trial was held behind closed doors, which is why the court withheld details of the criminal case.

Dzhuan, who was born in Libya, and Nerush are businessmen from St. Petersburg, the media said. Their criminal case was reported in 2022. According to the inquiry, the two men had wanted to take out of Russia an unmanned aircraft used in area monitoring for civilian and military purposes.
