MOSCOW. Nov 8 (Interfax) - Moscow's Savyolovsky District has said it has sanctioned the arrest of the head of the Russian Defense Ministry's federal unitary enterprise Main Special Construction Directorate in a fraud case.
"The court has ruled to grant the motions of preliminary investigation agencies to select a measure of restraint for the chief executive officer of the Russian Defense Ministry's Main Special Construction Directorate, a federal unitary enterprise, and other suspects," the court said.
Alexander Molodchenko, Irina Maltseva and Yevgenia Sundukova have been placed in custody until January. Another suspect in the case, Olga Pavlova, has been placed under house arrest, it said.
All of them are suspected of embezzling a large amount of money by means of fraud while working under government contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry, according to the court.
At the same time, according to a number of open sources, Molodchenko stopped being the federal unitary enterprise's CEO in September, 2024.
