MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - The Kazanets small anti-submarine ship has practiced destroying mock enemy submarines and unmanned surface vehicles during a tactical exercise, the Baltic Fleet said in a statement on Monday.
"The small anti-submarine ship searched for submarines and practiced anti-submarine maneuvering and tracking a submarine in the designated area of the Baltic Sea. After that, the ship performed electronic torpedo firing, depth bombing and destruction of unmanned surface vehicles," the statement said.
The Kazanets also set up a defensive anti-submarine minefield using training bottom and anchor mines and performed air defense and anti-sabotage exercises, it said.
The Kazanets is intended for searching for, tracking and destroying submarines in the coastal zone. It is equipped with AK-176 and AK-630 air defense systems, an RBU-6000 rocket launcher, 533-mm torpedo systems, and modern sonars, it said.
