Relations with Poland should be normalized - Lukashenko

MINSK. Nov 11 (Interfax) - There is a growing need for Belarus and Poland to go back to normal relations, according to a congratulatory address by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to the people of Poland on the Polish National Independence Day.

"Step by step, as more and more Poles come to our country using the visa-free regime, people's diplomacy grows stronger, there is a growing need to go back to normal relations on the interstate level. I believe that this natural need of both societies will be met soon. Minsk is ready to continue working in this direction," Lukashenko was quoted as saying by his press service on Monday.

"Despite various problems, our peoples are destined to live near each other, to strengthen cooperation and friendship, common Christian and cultural heritage, broad connections in various sectors. Today's geopolitical and regional shocks, which are hurting the general public, again remind us of the high price of peace and confirm that there is no alternative to keeping mutually respectful and good-neighborly relations," Lukashenko said.
