BEIJING. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu is meeting with member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee's Political Bureau, CPC Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission Secretary Chen Wenqing in Beijing.
"Russian-Chinese relations, comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction have reached an unprecedentedly high level. Russia and China have similar approaches to key international and regional issues. Our states maintain a solidarity position at the United Nations, the UN Security Council, the G20, APEC, and others," Shoigu said in his opening remarks.
The meeting will address public security, justice, law and order.
"Over recent years, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have reached a number of important agreements on the development of Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction in the new epoch and made a plan for the future," Chen said.
He said he "is ready to work together on the successful ninth meeting of the Chinese-Russian mechanism of cooperation in law enforcement and security, based on the important consensus reached by the two heads of state."
"I am ready to have a detailed exchange of views on bilateral relations, especially cooperation in law enforcement and security, and to promote practical cooperation in all areas, in order to contribute to peaceful development of both states, the region, and the world," Chen said.
