BAKU. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has arrived in Baku, where he will hold talks with Azerbaijan's leadership and deliver a speech at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
Mishustin will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Ali Asadov during the visit, the Russian government's press service said in a statement earlier.
At their bilateral talks, the parties "will give special attention to the implementation of the agreements reached based on the outcomes of Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Azerbaijan on August 18-19 this year," it said.
Key issues on the agenda include the growth of bilateral trade and ways to advance practical cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan in energy, industry, including shipbuilding and transport engineering, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and other areas.
The sides will also discuss cooperation in finance and logistics, as well as joint efforts to implement the North-South International Transport Corridor project, the statement said.
Joint events as part of celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War will also be touched upon.
Mishustin is due to address COP29 in Baku on Wednesday evening.
His contacts on the sidelines of the UN climate summit are not ruled out.
