KASPIISK, Dagestan. Nov 13 (Interfax) - The United States and its allies are putting pressure on the Caspian countries in an attempt to involve them into their orbit of influence, Russian presidential aide and Maritime Board Chairman Nikolai Patrushev said.
"The U.S. and the European Union keep attaching special significance to the Caspian region, continuing their attempts to put total pressure on the states pursuing an independent foreign and domestic policy in order to involve them into their orbit of influence," Patrushev said at a conference at a naval base of the Federal Security Service border department for Dagestan.
