MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Aircraft of the U.S.-led coalition have continued to create dangerous situations in the Syrian airspace, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Capt. 1st rank Oleg Ignasyuk said.
"Eighteen violations of the Syrian airspace by coalition aircraft, including three pairs of F-15 fighter jets (twice), two pairs of Typhoon fighter jets, and a pair of F-16 fighter jets, were recorded in the al-Tanf area in the past 24 hours," Ignasyuk said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
Additionally, two violations of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by flights of coalition drones uncoordinated with the Russian side were recorded over the day, Ignasyuk said.
Positions of Syrian government forces came under three attacks by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group, which is banned in Russia, within the Idlib de-escalation area, including twice in the Latakia province and once near Nahshebba, where two Syrian soldiers were wounded, over the past day, he said.
As many as 3,992 persons crossed into Syria from Lebanon through five checkpoints in the past 24 hours, Ignasyuk said.
