Putin-Scholz conversation involved detailed, candid discussions, but not overlapping opinions - Peskov

MOSCOW. Nov 15 (Interfax) - The conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz took place at the German initiative, the Kremlin is satisfied with the mere fact that it took place but notes the diverging opinions of Moscow and Berlin, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"The conversation took place on the initiative of German side. In this, of course, is its importance. Searches are ongoing, or rather, attempts to collate the positions," Peskov said in an interview with the host of the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" program, Pavel Zarubin.

"The political will to learn this position first-hand cannot fail to cause satisfaction," he said.

"The discussions were detailed, candid, but one could not say there was some coincidence of opinions here," Peskov said.
