Armenian PM asks number of high-ranking officials to resign

YEREVAN. Nov 18 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has confirmed that he asked a number of officials to resign.

"Given the extensive discussions in the press and social networks, I consider it necessary to say that I have asked a number of high-ranking officials to leave their positions. The reasons for making such a request are not personal, but systemic, which I have spoken about publicly," Pashinyan said on a social network.

He said he could not deny the input of "the said partners in the development of statehood."

"I am grateful to everyone for their input and understanding of my request," Pashinyan said.
