No proposals on Putin-Macron conversation thus far - Peskov

MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - There have been no proposals on arranging a contact between Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron thus far, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"No, there have been no initiatives on this account thus far," Peskov told journalists on Monday.

That said, "as soon as there is a desire to talk on the French side or on the side of other countries, they would be able to do so," Peskov said.

Putin has indicated repeatedly that he "remains open to all contacts," Peskov said. "These contacts were curtailed not at Russia's initiative," he said.

Macron has said earlier that he is prepared to speak to Putin "provided a proper context."
