MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - Russia seeks to avoid a nuclear conflict and hopes that other states will act likewise, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"We have underlined in the context of our nuclear doctrine that Russia has a responsible stance and makes every effort to prevent such a conflict. We are hoping that other states take an equally responsible stance," Peskov told the press.
He thus commented on a statement by the U.S. Department of Defense spokesperson, who said the United States allowed for an exchange of nuclear strikes provided Washington retain some of its arsenal for further deterrence of potential adversaries.
