BAKU. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Baku has declined an offer of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to organize a meeting of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council session in Malta, the Azerbaijani news agency APA said, citing a diplomatic source.
"Blinken insistently wanted to mediate such a meeting. However, the Azerbaijani side categorically declined Blinken's proposal to arrange it. The reason for Baku's decision is the unfair, biased policy of the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden towards Azerbaijan," APA said.
"This is why, Azerbaijan does not want any U.S. involvement in the peace agenda and believes that is inexpedient," the diplomatic source said.
