Over 3,000 Ukrainian troops trained in Lithuania in 2024 - Defense Ministry

MINSK. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Over 3,000 Ukrainian troops have been trained in Lithuania in 2024, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry's press service said on Sunday.

"The Lithuanian army has trained over 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers, commanders and specialists of various sorts since the start of this year," the press service said.

Lithuanian Armed Forces Commander Gen. Raimundas Vaiksnoras assured Kiev that "the Lithuanian army will keep training Ukrainian soldiers in Lithuania and in the Interflex and EUMA international formats. It will also continue to assist treatment and rehabilitation of injured soldiers at military hospitals and will supply military hardware, such as drones and counter-drone systems, artillery rounds, air defense systems, and others," the press service said.

According to the Lithuanian Defense Ministry, Ukraine has been provided with military hardware, weapons, ammunition and other equipment with a total value exceeding 700 million euros, in addition to "other numerous kinds of support not included in this amount."
