Russia, U.S. continue to pre-notify each other of ICBM launches - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Moscow and Washington continue to notify each other of planned launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), Russian Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) Commander Sergei Karakayev said.

"The Russian Federation notifies the U.S. side of any planned launch of intercontinental ballistic missiles and ballistic missiles from submarines at least 24 hours in advance. The United States also provides this information," Karakayev said in an interview with the Defense Ministry's Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

"Such notifications include a planned launch date, a launch site and a warhead drop area," he said.
