Assassination of Russian radiation protection forces chief classed as act of terrorism - Investigative Committee

MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Investigators have qualified the assassination of Russian Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Forces Commander Igor Kirillov as an act of terrorism, the Investigative Committee said.

"The Russian Investigative Committee's main investigative department for the city of Moscow is investigating a criminal case dealing with the death of two military officials in the capital involving indications of crimes covered by Russian Criminal Code Articles 105, 205, and 222 (murder, act of terrorism, illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition)," the committee said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.

Investigative Committee chief Alexander Bastrykin has ordered that the committee's central office take the investigation into Kirillov's assassination under special control.
