MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election was the most significant event of all that happened worldwide in 2024 according to 17% of Russians polled by the Public Opinion Foundation in a survey published on the pollster's official website on Tuesday.
This year's progress in the special military operation, especially the Russian army's offensives, was the event of the year for 11% of the respondents, according to the findings.
Among important events included in the rating were also the hostilities in the Middle East, the BRICS summit in Kazan, and Russia testing its Oreshnik ballistic missile in combat, the pollster said.
The poll was conducted among 1,500 respondents aged 18 and over in 104 settlements in 53 Russian regions on November 29 - December 1.
