Armenian Defense Minister Papikyan, his French counterpart discuss bilateral cooperation in Paris

YEREVAN. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu in Paris on Tuesday to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation, the Armenian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

"At the meeting, [the ministers] discussed the current aspects of Armenian-French defense cooperation. Papikyan stressed the importance of the steady implementation both of agreements already reached with Lecornu and of new ones to be reached at this meeting," the statement said.

Lecornu reaffirmed readiness to develop cooperation, the ministry said.

In early December, the two countries' defense ministries signed a cooperation program for next year, which includes several dozen events in practically every sphere of military activity.
