MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost over 41,800 troops in the Kursk sector to date, including more than 210 in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 210 troops over the past day. Two tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, an armored personnel carrier, four armored combat vehicles, two automobiles, a Croatian-made RAK-SA-12 multiple rocket launcher, a 152mm D-20 gun and a 122mm D-30 howitzer were also destroyed," the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian losses over the entire period of fighting in the Kursk sector include more than 41,870 troops, 244 tanks, 184 infantry fighting vehicles, 127 armored personnel carriers, 1,283 armored combat vehicles, 1,152 automobiles, 318 artillery guns, and 42 multiple rocket launchers, it said.
In the course of hostilities in the Kursk sector, Ukrainian forces have also lost 13 air defense missile launchers, seven transporter-loaders, 75 electronic warfare stations, 13 counterbattery radars, four air defense radars and 27 engineering and other vehicles, the ministry said.
During their offensive operations, units of Russia's northern group of forces struck 13 Ukrainian brigades near 14 communities in the Kursk region, it said.
"Tactical and army aircraft and artillery struck enemy troops and hardware near Guyevo, Kolmakov, Kurilovka, Maryevka, Makhnovka, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, Novaya Sorochina, Orlovka, Pogrebki, Rubanshchina, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, as well as near Basovka, Belovody, Veselovka, Vodolagi, Zhuravka and Miropolye in the Sumy region," the ministry said.
