Kremlin sees growing disagreement in Europe over prospects for Ukraine support

MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Disagreements over prospects for supporting Ukraine have been growing in Europe, yet for now European states are following in the footsteps of the current U.S. administration, which seeks to continue the conflict, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"We see growing contradictions and the emergence of numerous disagreements over prospects, modalities of further assistance, effectiveness, and so on. Of course, we are closely monitoring this process. We see that countries still declare their political will for further support for Ukraine," Peskov said.

He thus commented on results of a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Ramstein, Germany, at the request of journalists.

"To put it plainly, the current administration of the United States, which has ten days in office left, plans to do everything to continue this war. Naturally, European states follow the mainstream policy. This applies to the incumbent U.S. administration and their satellites who made an appearance in Ramstein," Peskov said.
