LUGANSK. Jan 13 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) branch in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) has detained a local resident on suspicion of spying for Ukraine, the FSB told journalists.
"The Russian FSB branch in the Lugansk People's Republic has put an end to the illegal activity of a former Ukrainian citizen acting to the benefit of a foreign state," it said.
The LPR resident is suspected of gathering information about the location of Russian Army units and sharing it with the Security Service of Ukraine, the FSB said.
"The offender has been detained, and a criminal case has been opened on counts envisaged by Article 276 of the Russian Criminal Code, Espionage. An investigation is underway," it said.
