MOSCOW. Jan 13 (Interfax) - Russia will explore ways to minimize the impact of U.S. sanctions on its oil and gas sector, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"First of all, measures will be taken and options will be explored to minimize the impact of these sanctions," Peskov told the press.
He was asked how the sanctions might affect the supply of Russian hydrocarbons to the Asian market and what countermeasures Russia might take.
"The situation in the modern world has repeatedly proven that it is not so easy to cut the natural energy supply routes. Whenever something is blocked in one place, an alternative pops up in another. We will be searching for options to minimize the impact of the sanctions," Peskov said.
