Russia took no part in conclusion of Israeli-Hamas ceasefire deal - Peskov

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Moscow has taken no part in the conclusion of the Israeli-Hamas agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, adding that any settlement that leads to a ceasefire and enhances security is welcome.

"We have said, as we answered questions, that any settlement, which leads to a ceasefire and end of suffering of people in Gaza and enhances security of Israel, is welcome. Russia has taken no part in this process, but let us wait for the process to be finalized," Peskov told the press in response to a question whether Russia took part in the settlement process and whether the sides could be congratulated on the deal.

Peskov said it would be premature to make any assessments.
