Russian reservists to be called up for military training in 2025

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree calling up Russian reservists for military training in 2025.

The document, dated January 16, was published on the official legal information website on Thursday.

"In accordance with the federal laws, No. 61-FZ, On Defense, of May 31, 1996, and No. 53-FZ, On military duty and military service, of March 28, 1998, I hereby decree that Russian citizens in reserve be called up in 2025 to complete military training in Russia's Armed Forces, National Guard troops, rescue military formations of the Russian Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief, federal protection authorities and federal security authorities," the decree said.

The central government and regional executive authorities will oversee the implementation of measures related to reservists' call-up for military training and the training process, it said.

The decree is effective from the day of its official publication.
