Russian forces take control of Slavyanka in DPR - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 17 (Interfax) - Russian forces took control of eight populated localities in the special military operation zone, including the Slavyanka village in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), over the past week, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Units from the central group of forces kept moving deeper into enemy defense lines and took control of Shevchenko, Peschanoye, Ukrainka and Slavyanka in the Donetsk People's Republic," the ministry said.

Russian forces also took control of Kalinovo in the Kharkov region, and Terny, Yantarnoye and Neskuchnoye in the DPR, it said.
