Russia to open Consulate General in Chinese city Wuhan

MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order to open a Russian Consulate General in Wuhan, China, according to a statement on the official website of legal information.

"The Foreign Ministry of Russia shall establish the number of employees of the Russian Consulate General in Wuhan within the limits of the established number of Russian diplomatic staff abroad, and shall approve its staff schedule," the order said.

The opening and maintenance of the consulate will be at the expense of budget allocations provided for the Russian Foreign Ministry in the federal budget for a corresponding financial year and planned period for the upkeep of foreign staff.

Wuhan is the administrative center of Hubei Province, a city with a population of around 12 million people, situated on the confluence of Yangtze and Han Rivers.
