MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - The Russian northern group of forces has repelled two Ukrainian counterattacks in the Kursk region in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
"Two counterattacks by the enemy have been repelled," the statement said.
Units from the northern group of forces continued their offensive and hit detachments of nine Ukrainian brigades near 14 populated localities in the Kursk region, it said.
Tactical aircraft, army aviation and artillery struck enemy troops and hardware near 22 populated localities in the Kursk region and another five in the Sumy region, it said.
