Drone debris sparks fire at oil refinery in Russia's Volgograd region - governor

MOSCOW. Feb 3 (Interfax) - A mass drone strike on the Volgograd region has been repelled yet drone debris sparked a fire at an oil refinery, the region's governor Andrei Bocharov said.

"The Russian Defense Ministry's air defense repelled a mass fixed-wing drone attack on the Volgograd region last night. Most drones were intercepted and neutralized. No casualties," the regional administration quoted Bocharov as saying.

Isolated fires sparked by drone fragments at an oil refinery have been contained, he said.

"Additionally, there were short-term voltage surges in the power grid. Power supply to Volgograd and municipalities around is being provided in full," Bocharov said.
