MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has met with parliamentarians from the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Moscow to discuss last year's results of CSTO cooperation and further development of the collective security system, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website on Friday.
The attendees "discussed the main results of the wide-ranging CSTO cooperation in 2024 and outlined key areas of a subsequent development of the collective security system, strengthening the parliamentary dimension of CSTO activities, and deepening the foreign-policy coordination. An interested exchange of views was held on pressing issues of the international and regional agendas," the statement said.
The event was attended by the CSTO member states' chairmen of parliamentary committees (commissions) on international relations and on defense and security, CSTO member states' ambassadors, and CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, it said.
