MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - The Ural Works of Civil Aviation will premiere the Forpost-RE medium-range drone at the IDEX 2025 international defense exhibition and conference in Abu Dhabi, the plant spokesman said in a statement.
"A global premiere of the export modification of the drone, which has proven its value in real combat in the Middle East, is due as part of the Russian national exhibition," the statement said.
According to the plant, Forpost-RE performs reconnaissance and attack missions, including round-the-clock aerial surveillance and strikes on ground or surface targets, in a broad range of climatic and geographic conditions (in temperatures from -40°C to +50°C). It can carry guided and unguided air bombs and missiles of up to 40 kilograms.
"The special military operation showed that attack capacities of drones are limited in this class and are not particularly relevant, unlike their capacity for targeting, surveillance and patrolling of vast spaces, such as coasts, borders and so on. Absolute protection from sanctions owing to all-Russian component parts and years of successful operation in real combat are the competitive advantages of the Russian Forpost-RE drone," the plant spokesman said.
Additionally, the plant will demonstrate a mockup of an export modification of the UTS-800 turboprop plane for initial pilot training at IDEX 2025.
The plane is highly maneuverable and has low operational costs, the plant said.
"Choosing UTS-800 will significantly facilitate the training of military pilots in countries ordering Russian aircraft and needing training planes. Depending on the size of purchase by a potential foreign buyer and R&D funding, the plane may be improved and customized for specific systems requested by the buyer," he said.
UTS-800 has good performance characteristics and shares components and ergonomics with Russian warplanes, the spokesman said.
UTS-800 operates in temperatures from -30°C to +45°C. It has a top speed of 460 kilometers per hour, a top range of 1,200 kilometers, and a ceiling of 6,000 meters, he said.
Meanwhile, Rostec's Russian Helicopters holding will demonstrate the Kamov Ka-32A11M firefighting helicopter at IDEX 2025. This is the latest modification of Ka-32.
"The helicopter has good export potential, and foreign specialists and pilots are very enthusiastic about it. Many potential operators are familiar with helicopters of the kind and note their particular efficiency in firefighting. The reputation of Ka-32 helicopters speaks for itself, about 190 helicopters are in operation in 20 countries across the world. I should also say that Rostec has started to deliver new Ka-32A11M to Russian clients," the Rostec press service quoted Rostec First Deputy General Director Vladimir Artyakov as saying.
IDEX 2025 will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on February 17-21.
