MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Russian forces have taken control of Figolevka in the Kharkov region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"As a result of resolute actions, units from the western group of forces have taken control of Figolevka in the Kharkov region," the ministry said in a statement.
Units from the western group of forces struck detachments of seven Ukrainian brigades near Kondrashovka, Golubovka, Zagoruikovka and Novaya Kruglyakovka in the Kharkov region, Novolyubovka in the Lugansk People's Republic, and Kolodezi and Yampolovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, the statement said.
In that sector, Ukrainian forces lost more than 190 troops, three M113 armored personnel carriers, seven vehicles, and six artillery systems. Two ammo depots were destroyed, it said.
Units from the southern group of forces took better positions and struck troops and hardware of several Ukrainian formations near Nikiforovka, Chasov Yar, Chervonoye, Ivanopolye, Pravdovka and Ulakly in the DPR. Ukrainian forces lost up to 180 troops, an armored combat vehicle, two vehicles, and two ammo depots, the ministry's statement said.
Units from the central group of forces improved their frontlines and hit detachments of 11 Ukrainian brigades near Ulyanovka, Zverevo, Kotlino, Udachnoye, Uspenovka, Nadezhdinka, Novoandreyevka and Alexeyevka in the DPR. Ukrainian forces lost over 585 troops, two tanks, four armored combat vehicles, three pickup trucks, and four artillery systems, it said.
"Units from the eastern group of forces moved farther into Ukrainian defense lines and hit troops and hardware of three mechanized brigades and an air assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as a marine brigade and two territorial defense brigades near Poddubnoye, Konstantinopol, Razliv and Otradnoye in the Donetsk People's Republic and Temirovka and Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye region," it said.
There, Ukrainian forces lost up to 160 troops, three tanks, two vehicles, and five artillery systems, it said.
The Dnepr group of forces hit detachments of four Ukrainian brigades near Novoandreyevka and Malye Shcherbaki in the Zaporozhye region, and Mylovoye, Tyaginka and Pridneprovskoye in the Kherson region. Ukrainian forces lost up to 75 troops, five vehicles, an artillery system, two electronic warfare stations, and an ammo depot, it said.
Units from the northern group of forces operating in the Kharkov sector struck Ukrainian troops and hardware near Liptsy and Volchansk. Ukrainian forces lost up to 35 troops, two armored combat vehicles, five vehicles and an artillery system. A supplies depot was destroyed, it said.
