MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The Russian delegation counts on positive discussions with its U.S. counterparts at negotiations in Saudi Arabia and hopes that the dialogue with Washington will continue, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) head Kirill Dmitriev told journalists before the start of the talks in Riyadh on Tuesday.
"We count on having a positive discussion, a positive dialogue," Dmitriev, who will be in charge of economic issues on behalf of Russia at the upcoming talks, said.
"We see of course that [U.S.] President [Donald] Trump is very actively tackling a large number of problems in the world, and we hope that the position of the Russian Federation will be heard very clearly and the dialogue will continue," he said.
"Today's negotiations with the American delegation are crucial," Dmitriev said.
"The whole world is watching whether the U.S. and Russia manage to improve relations", because "it will help accomplish a large number of global tasks and problems facing the world today," he said.
"We also see that economic cooperation is important," Dmitriev said.
