Current conditions at Zaporozhye NPP do not allow IAEA mission rotation - Rosatom head

MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - Current conditions at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant do not allow rotation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission, Rosatom head Alexei Likhachev said.

"The situation [at the Zaporozhye NPP] is not improving. Two rotation attempts have been thwarted by reckless actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which I would even call provocative. Obviously, Kiev tries to use the transit of IAEA experts to achieve political and tactical objectives. This cannot be allowed to happen," Likhachev said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television channel (VGTRK) on Wednesday.

"Current conditions, which occur during exchanges, do not allow us to make the rotation. We will insist on absolutely safe conditions," Likhachev said.
