Russia, China should defend WWII results, historical truth - Chinese FM

BEIJING. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russia and China should defend WWII results and historical truth as victors, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a meeting with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu in Beijing.

"As main victors of WWII and permanent members of the UN Security Council, our countries should defend WWII results and historical truth, maintain global peace, and promote the development of our planet," Wang said.

The Russian Security Council's press service said earlier that Shoigu had arrived in Beijing to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The negotiations are due to address bilateral cooperation in security, as well as global and regional affairs.
