Moscow urges Chisinau to explain why Russian ambassador's credentials have still not been accepted

MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Moldovan Ambassador Lilian Darii on Wednesday, the ministry said.

"The Moldovan head of mission was informed of perplexity over the fact that, in violation of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the president of Moldova has still not accepted credentials from Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova Oleg Ozerov, who arrived in the country back in October 2024," the ministry said.

"The Moldovan ambassador was handed the text of the Vienna Convention and a note verbale demanding that Moldova explain reasons for which it is violating its provisions concerning uniformity of the practice applied with respect to heads of mission and the order of presentation of credentials by them," it said.
