MOSCOW. March 5 (Interfax) - Sukhoi Su-30SM fighter aircraft and a Su-24MR reconnaissance plane of Russia's Baltic Fleet have conducted a series of training combat flights in the Kaliningrad region to practice bombing ground targets.
"Su-30SM planes dropped various types of air bombs and fired aircraft artillery. The aircraft practiced maneuvering elements in approaching targets amid electronic jamming measures applied by a simulated enemy," the Baltic Fleet said in a statement on Wednesday.
Special significance was attached to the operation of a Su-24MR frontline reconnaissance plane, which successfully uncovered the locations where a simulated enemy concentrated its personnel, the statement said.
"The coordinates were transmitted to the joint reconnaissance control station to destroy the targets using air-launched munitions of a Su-30SM plane," it said.
"The exercises confirmed the high level of preparedness and professionalism of Baltic Fleet naval pilots and their ability to perform their duties in complicated modern warfare situations," it said.
