Russia, U.S. at initial stage of 'restoring' relations - Peskov

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - The path to improving bilateral relations between Russia and the United States will be fairly long and hard, the countries are at the start of this path, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"We are at the initial stage of the path towards the restoration of our bilateral relations. The path will be very long, hard, but at least the two presidents have expressed their political will in this direction," Peskov told reporters on Monday.

Although Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump have only had one phone conversation, it was "fairly constructive to have dialogue and solve problems," Peskov said.
