It's difficult for Moscow to agree with U.S. initiative on temporary ceasefire with Ukraine now due to success on frontline - Lukashenko

MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - Russia has "big cards" in the situation in Ukraine, therefore, an agreement on settlement can be reached when Russia "gets them," Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who is paying an official visit to Russia, told reporters.

"It is now difficult" for Moscow to agree to the U.S. initiative on a temporary ceasefire due to success on the frontline, Lukashenko said.

"Like [U.S. President Donald] Trump said, they have big cards in their hands. If they save these cards, they will get and will start winning this card game - then an agreement will be reached," Lukashenko said.
