Baku ready to discuss with Armenia issues on normalizing relations through bilateral dialogue - Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry

BAKU. March 13 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry officially confirmed on Thursday the completion of talks with Armenia on the text of the peace treaty.

"We are stating with satisfaction the completion of the talks on the text of the draft peace agreement and establishment of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

At the same time, the ministry said Azerbaijan's position on the need to make amendments to the Armenian constitution remains unchanged.

"The main condition for signing the treaty is changes to the Armenian constitution, in particular, the elimination of claims against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan - it is a long-term and principled positon of Azerbaijan. At the same time, it is important to abolish the obsolete and non-functioning OSCE Minsk Group and its entities," the ministry said.

The statement also says Baku is ready to continue bilateral dialogue with Yerevan on this and other issues associated with the normalization process.
