MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - A treaty on security guarantees within the framework of the Union State of Russia and Belarus has taken legal effect, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Today, we exchanged ratification instruments of the treaty on security guarantees signed in Minsk on December 6, 2024, and thus the treaty has taken legal effect," Putin said at a press conference following Russian-Belarusian top-level negotiations on Thursday.
The document stipulates mutual allied obligations to reliably guarantee Russia's and Belarus's defense and security "with the use of the entire existing arsenal of forces and means," he said.
