MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko have condemned the confrontational policies of the European Union on Russia and Belarus, as well as interference in the internal affairs of both states, the Kremlin said on its website.

"The presidents condemn the aggressive and confrontational policies of the European Union on Russia and Belarus, interference in the internal affairs of both states, the use of unilateral sanctions, including exterritorial, in breach of the UN Charter," Putin and Lukashenko said in a joint statement issued after the Russian-Belarusian talks.

The leaders said such measures "harm international and stable development." Political pressure exerted through illegitimate sanctions mechanism is unacceptable, the statement said.
