Putin, Lukashenko discuss developments around Ukraine, Russian leader shares assessments of progress in Russian-U.S. dialogue - Kremlin

MOSCOW. March 20 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has had a phone call with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the Kremlin press service said in a statement.

"The two leaders discussed developments around Ukraine, and in this regard, Vladimir Putin shared his assessments of the progress in the ongoing Russian-American dialogue at various levels," the statement said.

The parties also discussed the results of Lukashenko's recent official visit to Russia. "The two sides said they are pleased with the constructive and substantive nature of the talks. The decisions taken and a solid package of signed joint documents will undoubtedly give an important impetus to further strengthening of mutually beneficial Russian-Belarusian relations and enhancing union integration," it said.

"The parties addressed the upcoming celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory, as well as cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union, where Belarus is presiding this year. The two leaders will be in close contact on all these topics," it said.
