MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - Russia is strongly against the deployment of foreign military units in Ukraine, member of the Russian delegation at the talks with the United States in Riyadh and head of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin said.
"We are strongly against the deployment of any military units of foreign countries in the Ukrainian territory. We are well aware that these will most likely be military units from the NATO member states," Karasin said on the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel.
The deployment of foreign military units in Ukraine "will result in the protraction of the conflict, new clashes, new information and military escapades such as provocations," he said.
"It will solve nothing and only prolong the vagueness, uncertainty and persistence of problems and bring even more grief simply by being there," Karasin said.
