MP Slutsky positively assesses plans to suspend ban on Taliban's activities in Russia

MOSCOW. March 31 (Interfax) - A possible suspension of the ban on activities in Russia by the Taliban movement (designated in Russia as a terrorist organization) reflects the actual situation where the Taliban rule Afghanistan, Chairman of the Russian State Duma's Foreign Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky said.

"[I assess it] only positively, because the Taliban rule Afghanistan today. One has to be governed by the realities," Slutsky told Interfax on Monday when asked how a suspension of the ban on the Taliban's activities in Russia would impact international relations.
