WASHINGTON. April 3 (Interfax) - Dialogue between the United States and Russia plays an important role in building a more secure and more prosperous world, Special Presidential Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries Kirill Dmitriev said.
"Whatever your politics, dialogue between the U.S. and Russia matters. It's about building a more secure, more prosperous world for everyone," Dmitriev said on social media.
The Washington Post said earlier citing an informed source that Dmitriev was meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in Washington.
U.S. media had earlier announced a possible meeting between Witkoff and Dmitriev in the White House.
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, for his part, told journalists that Dmitriev's visit to Washington was possible.
Dmitriev has been under U.S. individual sanctions since 2022.
CNN said that Dmitriev took part in Russian-U.S. talks on the Ukraine conflict resolution in Riyadh in February.
