Rostec to supply over 50 Soyuz rocket engines by year-end

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) will manufacture and supply over 50 RD-107A/108A engines for Soyuz launch vehicles by the end of this year, Rostec said on Friday.

"This year, our engine manufacturers will deliver over 50 engines for the first and second stages of the Soyuz rocket to the buyer. Several hundred RD engines are due to be made by the end of 2030," Rostec said.

In 2024, RD-107A and RD-108A engines were used in 15 launches of Soyuz rockets from the Baikonur, Vostochny and Plesetsk cosmodromes, it said.

RD-107A and RD-108A liquid-fuel engines were developed in 1993-2001. These are derivatives from the RD-107 and RD-108 engines used to power Vostok, Voskhod, Soyuz and Molniya launch vehicles for a long time.
