Iranian FM planning to discuss progress of consultations with U.S. in Moscow this week

DUBAI. April 14 (Interfax) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi plans to visit Moscow this week, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said.

"Araghchi will make a pre-planned trip to Moscow later this week, and will use this opportunity to discuss the latest developments related to the Muscat talks," the Mehr news agency quoted Baghaei as saying.

The first round of Iranian-U.S. consultations took place in the capital of Oman last weekend. As reported after the consultations, the sides agreed to meet again on April 19.

Araghchi called the consultations constructive and said that the sides exchanged messages four times via Omani intermediaries on Saturday.

U.S. President Donald Trump said he believed the negotiations with Iran were going well.
