BRUSSELS. May 14 (Interfax) - The European Union intends to restrict Russia's access to technologies with its 17th package of anti-Russian sanctions, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday.
"I welcome the agreement on our 17th sanctions package against Russia. We are further restricting access to battlefield technology," she said on X.
"And we have listed an additional 189 shadow fleet vessels to target Russia's energy exports," she said.
Permanent envoys of the EU states approved a new package of anti-Russian sanctions on Wednesday. The Council of the European Union now has to approve these measures. It was earlier reported that it plans to do so later in May.
