KURSK. May 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has come to the Kursk region for the first time since its liberation from Ukrainian forces and said he wants to see the situation on the ground despite having full information about the region.
"Of course, I have all the information. I receive reports from the government, the military, the security services, the representative office, and the Interior Ministry. This is enough for work, but I wanted to see you and listen to you, to take a better look at the situation on the ground. I have seen certain things and taken notes. We will do it," Putin said at a meeting with heads of municipalities in the Kursk region.
"There is a combat-like situation in the Kursk region," Putin said. He asked the acting governor to nominate local officials for state awards.
"You did not wait for orders, one thing went missing after another, certain bodies disappeared, but you did not flee, did not run away but continued to fulfill your duty, and you made it," Putin told employees of municipalities in the Kursk region.
